Recipe Clean Out: Oreo Fudge

Back when I was still a newlywed, my mother in law gave us a recipe book that included Jeffy’s favorite meals/desserts. It has been well loved.. Through the years I have come across recipes either on the internet, from a friend/family member, a magazine…..and I write them on sticky notes.  With no title.  So basically, all of these sticky notes that I have no idea what they are.  And my handwriting varies on how quickly I wrote down the recipe.  Ack!

Recipe mess

So I am going to try and get rid of the sticky notes and make the recipes to see what they are!  Granted, you can kind of tell what they are by some of the ingredients, but I have been surprised a few times!  ;)I figured I would start to document what I get from now on…

I think we lucked out this time!  It was Oreo Fudge!!  Yum!!

Oreo Fudge

Oreo Fudge recipe
3 cups sugar
3/4 cup butter
2/3 cup evaporated milk
2 cups white chocolate chips
1 jar of marshmallow creme/fluff
1/2 cup finely crushed Oreos (the whole cookie, I think it would be about 8 of them or so)
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup crumbled Oreo cookie only (this was maybe 15 or 16 cookies)
Line a 9″ baking dish with foil
Mix sugar, butter and milk in pan.
Bring to boil for three minutes and remove.
Stir in white chocolate chips, marshmallow fluff, cookies and vanilla.
Pour into baking dish.
Sprinkle cookies on top and swirl gently using a knife without touching bottom of dish.
Refrigerate for at LEAST an hour.

This makes quite a bit for our family, so I packed up half of it and everyone at Jeffy’s work can enjoy it on Monday.

Yay, a new recipe!! I have all but one of the ingredients in my cabinet. Guess I will be headed to the store tomorrow to get evaporated milk. Thanks for sharing.

Did you make it? 😀 I forgot how much my kids love it and they were so happy that I made it the other day. I didn’t think they would eat it all, so when I took half of it to my husbands work, I think they were disappointed, lol. Next time I probably won’t. 😉
