If you are new to Five Minute Friday…you can learn about it here. But basically, every Friday there is a new word listed and we write for just five minutes on whatever strikes us in regards to that word.
The word for this week is: Rhythm.
Ten years ago we moved from the mountains of Payson, AZ back down to the valley. Ryan was almost four years old and Kyle was almost a year and a half. Just a short time after making that move, Lauren was born. Three kids four and under. Kyle didn’t talk to me for the first week or so after bringing Lauren home. Ryan was still angry that Kyle made it so that our attention wasn’t on him alone anymore. Not to mention we got a teeny tiny puppy. Life was kind of crazy!
Fast forward a few years and they are all in school. What? How did that happen? Well, it did! I had a photography business that kept me busy, and when I wasn’t busy with that, I was hanging out with my sister in law who’s kids were at the same school. Hiking and lunches and shopping. Oh, can’t forget Starbucks! Put that on repeat and that was our week. Life was still kind of crazy!
Fast forward a few more years and we are all now in North Carolina. We aren’t woken up at some awful hour in the morning…ok, Ryan may argue that point…and when we do wake up, it is to the sound of birds out the window that seem to have contests on who can sing the loudest in the morning. Lauren goes to check on the chickens. Kyle gets everything ready for school. And you know what? Life really isn’t crazy anymore. We have found our rhythm. And it is nice.
