Jeffy wanted to get out of the house today. It was going to be a warm day and he just didn’t want to stay home with nothing to do inside. Originally he talked about going to Virginia…well, that didn’t happen! We went to Wake Forest instead. Hit up Tractor Supply because they are the only people that seem to sell gloves to fit his hands..picked up other things such as dried meal worms, jelly beans and a toy horse. You know, the necessities.
We went to lunch at a Greek place since it had been a while since we have been there and ended up at a guys house that was selling guinea fowl. What is that you say? Well, they are the best thing for getting rid of ticks and other icky things in your yard. They also warn each other, and our chickens, about any predators in the area. There has to be a drawback you say….of course there is..they are loud. That would be why they are so good at warning their friends. 😉 Well, this is new..
The ones we got are just a week or two old. We saw some that were born yesterday and a couple that were starting to crack open their eggs.. Such a neat thing..
They were quite skittish when we first put them in the cage so it was hard to get a decent picture of them. I will get more once they are situated a little bit…
